The BMP280 Sensor Module by Bosch Sensortec is a compact, high-precision, and ultra-low-power digital sensor designed for accurate measurement of atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature. As the next-generation upgrade to the BMP180, it delivers improved accuracy, lower noise, faster response time, and a significantly smaller footprint.
Based on proven piezo-resistive pressure sensing technology, the BMP280 provides excellent absolute and relative pressure measurements. Since air pressure directly correlates with altitude, the sensor functions as a highly accurate digital altimeter, making it ideal for applications such as indoor floor detection, GPS enhancement, and vertical navigation. The onboard breakout circuitry allows seamless interfacing with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers via selectable I²C or SPI digital interfaces.
