The MPU-6050 is a highly popular and integrated 6-axis Motion Tracking Device that combines a 3-axis MEMS gyroscope and a 3-axis MEMS accelerometer into a single chip. It is the core component of many Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) used in drones, robotics, and gesture control applications. The chip includes a Digital Motion Processor (DMP) which can handle complex calculations, offloading the processing load from the main microcontroller.
This module simplifies integration with microcontrollers by utilizing the I2C/IIC communication protocol. It operates across a flexible voltage range of 3V to 5V DC. The sensor features high precision, courtesy of its built-in 16-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), providing 16-bit data output for both accelerometer and gyroscope readings.
