The Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ is the 2018 refresh of the original Pi A-series, built around the Broadcom BCM2837B0 SoC with a 1.4GHz 64-bit quad-core Cortex-A53 (ARMv8) processor. It pairs this performance with built-in dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2/BLE, delivering strong connectivity and processing power in a footprint identical to the original Raspberry Pi 1 Model A+.

Unlike the Model B+, the 3 Model A+ drops the Ethernet jack and two of the three USB ports, keeping only a single USB 2.0 port. This trims cost, power draw, and board size — at just 65mm × 56mm — while retaining full compatibility with existing Pi operating systems, HATs, and accessories, making it a great fit for minimalist and space-constrained builds.
