The TP4056 Battery Charging and Protection Module is a widely used, cost-effective, and reliable solution for charging single-cell 3.7V Lithium-Ion or Lithium-Polymer batteries, including popular 18650 cells. It is built around the proven TP4056 linear charger IC and, on protection-enabled variants, integrates the DW01A protection IC with FS8205A dual MOSFETs to ensure safe charging and discharging.

The module follows the industry-standard CC/CV (Constant Current / Constant Voltage) charging algorithm, terminating at a precise 4.2V float voltage. A default 1A charging current is provided, which can be adjusted by replacing the onboard programming resistor (RPROG) to suit smaller or larger battery capacities. Integrated protection circuitry safeguards the battery against over-discharge, over-charge, and over-current, extending battery lifespan and improving safety in portable electronics.
